March 2014 is when it all began. I had gone in for a physical exam, and at 5’3” and 25 years old, I weighed 197lbs, and was diagnosed with high cholesterol and hypothyroidism, which was a good explanation as to why my energy level was so low. Being someone that had worked out hard core and seen some results in the past, I figured I would return to my regular workouts but did not change much of my eating habits, and was a firm believer that with the right amount of expenditure I would get skinny. From March to June I worked out almost every day sometimes even twice a day, but was seeing little results. I did however feel more energized. I started going to the fit club workouts once or twice a week after much push and pull from a friend of mine. She told me about the shakes, and I was very much opposed to that, telling her it was too expensive and I couldn’t afford that—finding any reason to not do it as I could. It was in July when I was not able to work out due to a foot injury, and was very upset since I had really started enjoying going to the park workouts. That is when I decided to get the shakes, and follow the program. While I didn’t follow it completely, I had lost 6 lbs from doing no physical activity in July! That is when I turned into a believer. I tricked my mind to thinking that since I was not spending this money on a gym, or expensive diet food, I would invest it into my health and just included the shakes on my grocery budget. In September I got back into the workouts and went consistently, as well as following my program about 70%. In November I really went full force in the program, starting with the 6 week challenge. Since then I have lost 8 lbs, down 2% body fat and up 2% muscle, and gained 100% more confidence. My journey is not over, and I am not where I want to be physically, but today and every day I aim to become the best version of myself.
